StarsBrilliant service, huge portions

We were lucky enough to get a table on the Saturday night of their beer and cider Festival. The pub was heaving, but we were served very quickly and sat at a lovely table. The staff were very attentive and asked on more than one occasion if the live music was bothering us. The starters were lovely and I had a mixed grill as my main, the size of it was huge and very tasty. The local ales were superb and the cider was just fantasic. A great night and I would highly recommend this pub for a visit

StarsGreat Pub

Only had drinks but was very impressed. Not been here for years so was pleasantly surprised to see it was better than it ever was (though was always a good pub). Staff very friendly and professional. Service excellent. The pub had a really good atmosphere. Will be back for food next time as it looked really good.

StarsExcellent staff excellent food

Visited here on a busy Saturday evening,, we hadn't booked but the barman offeredus a table in the bar having warned us that dogs were allowed in the bar we confirmed that this wasn't a problem as we have a large dog ourselves, it turned out the bar was frequented by two very well behaved cocker spaniels. My wife is vegetarian which was catered for very well on the menu having a selection of curries, burgers and other options available, the food was served promptly my daughter opting for thr hunters chicken my wife had vegetarian buger and I chose a ribeye steak which was cooked rare just as I like it, all the meals came with hand cut "real" chips which were crispy on the outside with fluffy centres. All in all excellent service and excellent food,we will definitely be visiting here again but I'll be sure to book next time as it does get very busy.

StarsWonderful service, very welcoming

We turned up without a reservation and no advance warning of 3 mums, 3 toddlers and 3 babies but we could not have been more welcomed and accommodated. Plenty of high chairs, books, colouring books and crayons and that's before the children ventured outside to the play area! Both adult and children's menu were good and it was lovely to see on the children's menu they had large and small portions available, also had carrot sticks, cucumber sticks etc which were great for the babies. They had both plastic and metal cutlery for the children although no plastic plates which in all fairness I've yet to eat in a pub which does and this is quite frankly the only remotely negative thing I can say about the place. Waitress was lovely and incredibly tolerant and understanding of us and our children. We also met the land lady who like the waitress was so lovely and made us feel very welcome. Highly recommend for families, although don't all rush there as I want to be able to get in whenever I can!
